Personally, I don't understand what all the noise is all about.
He (and many others) say things like, "This replaces a car that for many was the most desirable...", "this marks the death of the M3 Coupe", "This car purely exists to fill a number hole". These statements don't make any sense to me.
I see it (and I'm unsure why many others don't), as BMW created a 3 Series Coupe that's more sporting and physically more different than the 3 Series Sedan. I think it's fitting. That's what a coupe should be.
The only thing that's changed beyond that, is the naming of this sportier 3 series coupe as a 4. I know why BMW did this. a) to point out the physical changes and b) Marketing. To get customers to aspire to own the next model up. This doesn't bother me.
Things change. BMW has a history much older than the 3 Series Coupe. Their lineup is nothing like it was when it contained the 1936 328, or the 507 of 1956.
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

Either way the car is amazing, according to everyone. Who cares it's 4 and not 3. Yes, it looks weird, but I can't see the number when I'm sitting in the car. Plus, right now when I say I drive a 335i I feel like I have to follow that with "sedan" to not confuse anyone.
